Violence & Gore شدت: زیاد Blood is rarely scene but it has a disturbing theme.

Violence & Gore شدت: زیاد The film opens with full-screen Super 8 footage and we see a family of four standing under a tree with bags over their heads and nooses around their necks: each person is lifted by the nooses and strangled when a large limb on the other side of the tree is sawed off; we see this scene several times and a demonic face with black-triangle eyes and yellowed peeling skin appears.

Violence & Gore شدت: زیاد Three people die by having their throats slit. Blood is briefly shown pouring out but it is only shown on a reflection on a characters glasses.

Violence & Gore شدت: زیاد A man watches films that he found in his attic and sees people being murdered in various ways, most of the violence is offscreen, but the camera work and editing really makes it scary.

Violence & Gore شدت: زیاد A family is set on fire in their car. This is not graphic but rather disturbing.

Violence & Gore شدت: زیاد A man's head is run over by a lawn mower. The camera cuts just as it comes over his head and we hear gross squishing sounds, screaming and a man's disgusted reaction.

Violence & Gore شدت: زیاد A man falls through a weak spot in his attic floor and the camera cuts to an EMT in the kitchen, wrapping the man's left calf with bandages (we see a little blood).

Violence & Gore شدت: زیاد A family is drowned. This is mainly offscreen but still disturbing.

Profanity شدت: کم There are 2 instances of the F-word, but both times are barely audible.

Frightening & Intense Scenes شدت: زیاد After the pool scene, a man with a demonic looking face rises up from the water.

Frightening & Intense Scenes شدت: زیاد In close up, a knife is seen approaching a man's neck who is bound and gagged in his bed. The throat cutting is then seen reflected in Ethan Hawke's glasses with a lot of blood pouring out from the wound.

Frightening & Intense Scenes شدت: زیاد Some consider it to be one of the scariest movie ever made but it is more disturbing then scary.

Frightening & Intense Scenes شدت: زیاد I found that Sinister 2012 and 2015 were both the scariest movies I've ever watched, even though I'm a huge horror movie fan. Both movies, in specific moments, made my heart beat faster, so please don't watch Sinister if you're sensitive to emotions.

Frightening & Intense Scenes شدت: زیاد Only a few jumpscares are more predictable than others, but throughout the movie, there are mostly unpredictable jumpscares, especially the major ones, which I found the most frightening and effective jumpscares I've ever seen.

Frightening & Intense Scenes شدت: زیاد Please do not watch Sinister and the sequel in the dark! It'll make it hard for you to fall asleep due to the number of jump scares in both movies, and both movies have a vast amount of disturbing imagery. Both movies have effective jump scares; most of the jump scares happen after the mid-point, and all jump scares to me were very scary, even the minor jump scares.
